the 2010 Spring Open Juried Show

Our first show of 2010 will take place in May. If history is any guide (our shows keep getting better and better), the artwork will be superb. And we may well have more entries than we can accept.

Take-in times will be Friday, April 30 from 3 pm until 5 pm, and Saturday May 1 from 9 am until noon. We'll have more info for you next month.

For now, we offer one suggestion for your consideration: presentation really counts. An excellent painting, drawing, pastel or photo may not get the notice it deserves if the mat and/or frame isn't up to par. Clean mats and unscratched frames can make a difference when it comes to judging for awards. And give some thought to what sort of mat and frame you use. Make sure they complement the art, not overpower it. You want your art to be the star, not the mat and frame.

And please volunteer to help put this show together. If you've not taken the opportunity to serve as a volunteer for one of our major shows, you probably don't realize how enjoyable it can be.
