Art Events in and around Orange County

Exhibitions & Competitions
This is my last column. It has been fun discovering and writing about some of the many art related events locally, but now it is time for someone else to take over. If interested, please contact Jackie Dvorman.
Check out MOLAA (Museum of Latin American Art) for their December events, and visit their charming cafe, museum shop, and sculpture garden on Sundays when it is free. Located at the corner of 6th and Alameda in Long Beach, their current exhibit emphasizes abstraction.
The Irvine Museum of Art, 18881 Von Karman Avenue in Irvine, continues to show its plein air collection of California art until February 2010. Another collection of California art is showing at the Laguna Art Museum, 307 Cliff Drive in Laguna Beach, until then as well.
Check out other local art leagues for their December events. For example, the Cypress Art League is having their Winter Gallery Exhibit at 5700 Orange Avenue in Cypress. Long Beach Arts has their national open exhibition until December 18 at 4332 Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach as well as their First Fridays events. Orange County Fine Arts shows their members' work until December 20 at the Showcase Gallery, 3851 South Bear Street in Santa Ana (South Coast Plaza Village), and they support the First Saturdays Artwalks in downtown Santa Ana.

Good by for now...
