Exhibitions

Interesting exhibits at the Muckenthaler at 1201 W. Malvern Avenue in Fullerton are still on. An exhibition of Orange County photographers and one of California ceramics remain until September 28. www.themuck.org/Galleries.htm or call (714) 738-6595.

At Irvine Fine Arts Center, 14321 Yale Avenue, in Heritage Park, two exhibits: "Chance Portraits on California Beaches," a photography exhibition, and Todd Williamson's oil paintings, remain until September 16.

The Huntington Beach Art Center is holding "Painting in the Streets" on Saturday, September 13, 10 a.m. - 4p.m. The Painting in the Streets event is designed for the public to view the artists at work while they paint in the first 2 blocks of Main Street in downtown Huntington Beach. A limited number of artworks will be available for sale at the Huntington Beach Art Center beginning at 6 p.m. during the public opening of Painting Huntington Beach, Plein Air Painters Exhibition.

"Abundance of Color," an exhibit of California Flowers in Art, remains at the Irvine Museum until September 6 at 18881 Von Karman Avenue. For information, call (949) 476-2565.

"Art of the Earth," an exhibit focusing on art created with materials formed from the earth, clay, stone, minerals, and gems, is at the Fallbrook Arts Center, Sep 21 - Oct 12. The Center is at 103 South Main at Alvarado in Fallbrook. Call (760) 728-1414 for information.

The Museum of Latin American Art is having its "Auction Exhibition '08" Sept. 16 - October 19, 2008. The auction weekend is Oct 18 & 19 at the museum, 628 Alamitos Avenue, Long Beach. See molaa.org for details.

"Art Since the 1960s: California Experiments" is on until September 14 at the Orange County Museum of Art, 850 San Clemente Drive, Newport Beach. Go to ocma.net for information.

The gallery is at 245 West Broadway at Pacific in Long Beach, and it is open noon - 4:00 Wednesday - Sunday, if you would like to view the exhibits.

The California Watercolor Association's 40th National Exhibition will be March 18 - 24, 2009 at the San Francisco Presidio. Entries are due October 18, 2008, and a prospectus is available at www.californiawatercolor.org.
