Tim Clark, watercolorist
Demonstrates Wednesday February 1, 2012
We are fortunate to have Tim Clark return as a demonstrator. For decades he has been recognized internationally as a pre-eminent contemporary watercolorist.
Timothy J. Clark’s watercolor and oil paintings are represented in permanent museum collections including the Smithsonian/National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC, The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, and Maine’s Farnsworth Art Museum. The artist’s sketchbook of drawings of Ground Zero, created at the still-smoldering site within days of the attack, were acquired for the collection of the Museum of the City of New York.
Paintings by Clark are in numerous private collections, and have been exhibited in international exhibitions at the Allied Museum in Berlin, Germany, the Danubiana Museum in Bratislava, Slovakia, and the Topkapi Museum in Istanbul, Turkey.
Below left is “Artist on the Hill” (which has won several awards). At the right is an untitled but wonderfully loose and expressive portrait.
You can see more of Clark’s work on his website: tclarkart.com, along with upcoming upcoming exhibitions, excursions and classes, and his latest book.
Bring your art work to the meeting to have it judged by Tim Clark. The work must be submitted by 7:15. There are ribbon prizes in six categories plus Best of Show and The Masters Category. The Rodgers Senior Center is located in the center of Huntington Beach on the corner of 17th and Orange Streets. There is parking behind the center.
