Since childhood, Carrol has been fascinated with portraying the three-dimensional world
on a two-dimensional surface. This early interest led her to pursue a degree in architecture
from USC and then a career as an architect.
Early retirement allowed Carrol to go back to school and continue art classes. During a
course in watercolor taught by Harvey Clemans, she fell in love with this medium.
Carrol continues to have a great interest in painting buildings, street scenes, and various
cityscapes from her travels and her imagination. She also enjoys painting people: their
emotions, their physical qualities and their daily lives.
Carrol is a member of the Huntington Beach Art League (HBAL), where she holds the position
of recording secretary. She is also a member of the Huntington Harbor Art League and Watercolor West.
She has received numerous awards including HBAL Best of Show for the month of November 2007,
First prize in Watercolor in HBAL 2007 Open Juried Show, Third prize in Mixed Media in HBAL 2008
Open Juried Show, Second Place in Watercolor at the 2008 Sunset Beach Art Festival, and a
Staff Award at the 2006 Orange County Fair.
