After a childhood of exploring different media, I found leaded glass as a senior in college
and have been making windows ever since. I feel fortunate to have found a creative way to make
a living. The pieces pictured here were all commissioned work. I am more than happy to work with
you to express your ideas in glass.
Church of Religious Science: For nearly 30 years, this space behind the altar
was boarded up and curtained. The design became a group project with the entire membership having
a vote in the final four designs. The window is called Energy Flow to depict the energy of the
universe coming into our lives.
Eagle: My client and I had some language communication problems with several
design proposals that didn't meet his vision. Finally he used his hands like claws and gave me a
fierce expression to show the head thrust forward and the eyes intent on capturing its prize. He
said the eagle would bring him good luck because it was going to “catch the money.“
Clear textures: Most of my work goes into entry door systems and does not have
color like other parts of the home might have. I like to use clear textures, bevels and jewels to
bring in colors with prisms and reflections. This set uses several clear glass textures and I think
of it as a weaving. I work with many styles of design that can be viewed on my website.
Underwater Scene: These panels were over an upstairs bath on a busy street that
required privacy. All of the fish started out as clear glass. Colors were added by fusing powdered
glass to the clear base in the kiln. The clients tell me they feel like they are underwater when they
take a soak.
